The backberries are almost to their peak. Himalayas and Everygreens are found in this area. Every year I'm amazed at how many tons go to waste. People pay 2 or 3 dollars a pound for them in the stores, or around $5 a gallon picked by others. They are free for the taking, and there are literally hundreds of miles of roads lined with wild berries. I picked for about 10 minutes and ate over a quart I think. It was my "raw food" lunch!
